The Marianas Outrigger Club (MOC) recently participated in the 22nd Micronesia Cup Canoe Race in Koror, Palau, and won one gold, four silver, and one bronze medal. The MOC women’s team won gold in the 1,500m sprint, silver in the 500m sprint, and bronze in the eight-mile distance race. The MOC men’s team won three silvers, one each in the 500m and 1,500m sprints and one in the 10-mile distance race. The team’s performance was impressive, considering that the women’s team had only trained together for three months, and the men’s team had changed their style of paddling and technique. MOC expressed its gratitude to their families and sponsors for their support.
