Marianas Outrigger Canoe lived up to high expectations after prevailing in the Northern Marianas National Paddling Sports Federation’s Long Distance Race Series 1 held last Saturday. MOC paddlers finish second in Guam race

Three Marianas Outrigger Club members joined the 2017 MPRA Galaide Cup Series and two finished second in the V1, 12-mile race. Jose Quan and Ketson “Jack” Kabiriel teamed up for MOC and made it to the podium after completing the event held in Merizo, Guam late last month in 2:13:14. Marianas Outrigger Club ruled the Northern Marianas National Paddling Sports Federation Sprint Season, capping the series of races with two more first place finishes last Saturday at the Kilili Beach. In the men’s open, MOC Red completed the long distance course (between 8 to 9 miles, according to race director Ed Johnson), timed in at 1:09:52 to finish ahead of MOC Black (1:10:39), SPC 1 (1:13:13), Guatdan Tasi (1:15:38), and SPC 2 (1:21:11).
